Why the new blog?

What a crazy last year! Ok I realized I haven’t blogged in the last…um…6 months? And I also realize that you might be offended or angry or bitter about it. If this is you, I offer my sincerest apologies and a hug the next time we meet in person. I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive and continue following.

For all others, here is an update…

Life has slowed down a bit this last 6 months which has been such a blessing. And when I say “slowed down” it means I’ve really only been working in a few countries, not a different one every month. This has actually been a real blessing and one of the reasons for the new blog.DSC_0040

Many of you have faithfully followed me these last 3 years while I’ve been working with Adventures in Missions (AIM) and the World Race. I can’t
describe how much of a blessing it has been to have a family like mine! I also think that if you’ve been following me you would know that my time with AIM wasn’t just a couple of crazy years but the foundation for what I was going to do with my life.

I remember praying a prayer month 2 of my original Race asking God why I didn’t feel called to anywhere or anyone specific. I think it was mainly motivated because I was jealous of my teammate Cassie Schott who knew she was called to Honduras after month 1, but there must have been some sincerity of heart because He is now answering my prayer!

These last few months I have been privileged to go to a discipleship school in Mijas, Spain called G42. Here God has given me the time and opportunity to let beliefs I have known to be true travel from my spirit to my mind. I had always thought I would go through some type of seminary, and while this is a far cry from stereotypical schools, it was exactly what I needed.

Aside from solidifying my beliefs it’s also given me time to step back and see where I wanted to invest long term and who I wanted to do it with. I think the last update I gave was a summary of my time in London over the Olympics and I look forward to sharing more stories about this summer, but what God really did was start to flesh out a vision for Europe that he has planned for me.

This is definitely a new season of life and a new blog to walk through the ups and downs with me…enjoy!
